Our team of Educators are committed and passionate about ensuring your child will be safe, nurtured and cared for every day. At Guardian, children are encouraged to engage in interest-led play that creates learning and meaningful experiences.
Our Educators seek to optimise diverse learning opportunities and implement the Curriculum as framed by the Early Years Learning Framework.
All Guardian Centres provide a Centre-to-Family communication platform so families can maintain contact with their children’s experiences through photos, stories and learning outcomes.
Our Centres use Storypark and each family is provided with a secure login to access on their computers, mobiles or apps.
Guardian Childcare Margaret Street is an early learning centre that services the Sydney CBD and is rated as exceeding the National Quality Standard for childcare, delivering excellent outcomes for children and families.
Guardian Childcare & Education Margaret Street is a cosy home away from home, with three rooms that cater for children from six weeks to six years old. Our partially covered outdoor space enables children to engage with their environment through all seasons—even the wettest of days. The space features a bark garden (add and) vegetable (remove herb) garden (remove and worm farm) as well as a mini rain water tank from which they can access water to care for the gardens. All play spaces are interactive to encourage experimentation and exploration, with a range of tools available to help challenge their thinking.
Children can also look out onto the street to observe the ‘real world’ in action and love to watch (remove the buses and taxis speeding past,) (add the new light rail along George Street, traffic buzzing past) changing traffic lights, busy people rushing to work, and the occasional fire trucks that rush by!
Our childcare centre menu provides balanced and nutritious meals that are prepared fresh using high quality, seasonal ingredients. They adhere to dietary and cultural requirements, and are on a four-week rotating menu that changes to suit the season. Meal times are very social and we use this time to discuss the topic of healthy eating with the children.
If you are thinking of enrolling your child, we offer tours and an orientation program at all of our early learning centres in NSW to help you become more familiar with our team and how we work. We always welcome feedback on how we can improve our service and how we can make life easier for you.
Guardian Margaret Street is rated exceeding in the National Quality Standard, and it’s not hard to see why. Being in the CBD doesn’t mean we’ve compromised on space or outdoor access. In fact, the Centre boasts a range of exciting, resource-rich environments, including an undercover outdoor space, a fort, craft shed, vegetable patches and a range of age-specific play areas, where our exciting programs come to life.
Children at Guardian Margaret Street also get out and about on regular excursions, so we have a great connection with the local community. In addition to visiting our local parks and florist, the children love hosting fundraisers in our building to raise money for the Starlight Foundation, which is a wonderful learning experience for all.
The first five years of your child’s life are incredibly important when it comes to social and emotional development, and setting them up with a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. That’s why at Guardian Margaret Street we’re focused on teaching children how to learn versus just ticking a box.
Read this blog on the benefits of CBD based childcare to understand the many benefits in enrolling your child in a childcare and early learning centre close to your workplace. Some of those benefits include: more time with your child, convenience, unique community excursions, room to move and explore and giving your child the chance to explore the big world around them!
We’re confident our unique approach to combining education, play and care will be the difference you’re looking for.
